Disassociate

Disassociate comes from a place in my brain when I mentally check out. Sometimes I ask what the time is and never listen to the answer, sometimes it’s when I’m observing a customer being rude to a person working at the shop. 

Maybe another word for this is… not listening.

Either way I feel blessed that I disassociate from simple things now. But there was a time that it wasn’t simple.
